Finance support, Groups/Events and party coordinator
This unique role combines high-level administrative and financial support with the exciting opportunity to coordinate groups and plan events and parties.
About the Role
As part of the Launceston PCYC team, you will:
- Provide financial support, including issuing invoices, managing debtors, processing banking and end-of-day reports.
- Manage membership applications, cancellations, and facility bookings for billing and account purposes using systems like MYOB and GymMaster.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, handling phone, email, and in-person inquiries.
- Coordinate and plan group activities, events, and parties for our diverse community.
- Other duties from time-to-time.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience in financial administration, including invoicing and debtor management.
- A track record of excellence in customer service duties.
- Proven ability to coordinate and manage events or group activities.
- High-level computer literacy with experience in MYOB and GymMaster (beneficial).
- Strong conflict resolution and confidentiality skills.
- High level of verbal and written communication.
- A current Working with Vulnerable People registration (essential).
- Availability to work across Launceston PCYC’s operating hours
- Motor vehicle license (desirable)

We are proud to deliver the ROYW (Reset Opportunities for Youth Works) programs, aimed at supporting at-risk youth to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
Role Overview:
The Youth Worker will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating the ROYW programs. This role will involve working directly with at-risk youth, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help them build resilience, develop leadership skills, and enhance their overall wellbeing. The successful candidate will collaborate with the other youth worker, schools, families, police, and other stakeholders to ensure the programs meet the needs of participants and achieve intended outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Delivery: Facilitate engaging, inclusive, and culturally sensitive activities and workshops aligned with the ROYW project goals.
- Youth Support: Build trusting relationships with participants, offering mentorship, guidance, and emotional support to address their individual needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with schools, families, community organizations, police, and internal teams to ensure program success and participant support.
- Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, collect feedback from participants, and contribute to reporting requirements.
- Crisis Management: Respond to challenging situations with professionalism, including de-escalating conflicts and supporting participants during crises.
- Administration: Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and incidents, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
Qualifications & Experience:
- A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth in a similar capacity.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by at-risk youth and the ability to develop tailored support strategies.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to manage group dynamics, resolve conflicts, and foster a safe, supportive environment.
Other Requirements:
- Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or willingness to obtain.
- National Police Check or willingness to undergo one.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
Desirable:
- Experience in delivering resilience, leadership, or wellbeing programs.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services for youth in Tasmania.
- Experience in data collection and reporting for program evaluation.
