- accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting
- accept the annual report
- accept the auditor’s report
- accept the annual financial statements
- appoint an auditor
- elect board members.
Expressions of Interest – Board of Management
Operating for over 70 years, LPCYC is a vital part of the fabric of Launceston community, providing youth development activities and programmes for some of our most vulnerable young people. LPCYC is a registered charity, striving to provide innovative interventions for young people who are experiencing disengagement. LPCYC offers a broad range of social and recreational activities that help fund the work we do with vulnerable, disengaged and disadvantaged young people.
We are on the lookout for people with skills across:
- HR Management
- Finance
- Strategy
- Advocacy
- Youth Development
- Public Relations
- Compliance
- Legal Advice
Meetings and Time Commitment
The Board of Management meets on the second Tuesday of each month commencing at 5.30pm, typically for a duration of 1 hour. The Board is elected each year at the AGM, typically held in October.
Expectations of Board Members
LPCYC Board members are committed and passionate about youth development with a particular focus on youth at risk.
Board members help support the Club to become an effective, sustainable and financially viable organisation and to develop young people through inclusive and diverse programmes.
The Board support the fostering of a loyal, professional and dedicated team of employees and volunteers and strive to provide safe, secure and fit-for-purpose facilities and to evolve to meet changing needs.
The Process
Nominations are accepted prior to the Annual General Meeting. The Constitution permits up to 12 members of the Board. If the number of nominations received is equal to or less that the number of vacancies to be filled, the persons nominated are taken to be elected. If the number of nominations exceeds the number of vacancies to be filled, a ballot is to be held at the AGM.
