Your Place is a safe space for young people who identify as LGBTQI, their friends and supporters. A casual, flexible space where you can hang out, watch TV, listen to music or do your homework, Your Place is anything you want it to be.
Every Saturday, we open up a space just for you that has access to a kitchenette, internet and music. PCYC will have a mentor onsite so you can talk through what is going on in your life, or just hang with like-minded people.
If you want to shoot some hoops, climb the rockwall, bounce on the trampolines or play archery tag, our PCYC staff will help coordinate what ever activity you would like to do.
Perhaps you just want to order some pizza and chill out to some tunes. Maybe you’d like to get some artwork or poetry happening. Maybe you need a quiet space to do your homework. Or maybe you would like to meet other young people whom you feel comfortable around.
Launceston PCYC values diversity and welcomes all young people. We’ve set up Your Place so you can have somewhere that is your own and can help you feel safe, welcomed and valued at the Club.
We recognise that inclusion in sport and active recreation isn’t always what it should be, so we would like you to help create the future. If a social basketball, futsal or volleyball game is what you want, we’ll make it happen. If it’s a weights gym to work out in that you’re after, we’ll support you.
Help create a future that reflects you. This is a new group and we want you to help design its future.
